Hello! I’m Sarah, a designer, visual artist, and writer based in West Yorkshire.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design in the USA and began my career exhibiting work in London galleries and illustrating for magazines. I later moved into the children’s publishing industry, with several books published internationally by Scholastic, Penguin Random House, and Bloomsbury. At the same time, I worked in children’s television, writing scripts, art directing, and building props for production companies such as the BBC, Nickelodeon, and Channel 4.

After moving to the USA in 2011, my practice expanded to include working more directly with children through creative workshops and school visits, informed by my publishing and television background. This strand of my work continues alongside my broader design and illustration practice.

I’ve always loved creating visual solutions using a mixture of mediums and materials, ranging from traditional drawing and collage to sculpture and digital art. After almost two decades of working across industries as a freelance creative, I recently completed an intensive graphic design program at Shillington. This has enabled me to elevate and diversify my work further and I’m particularly excited about opportunities in packaging and visual storytelling for family-friendly brands, sets, interiors and events.

If you think you might have a project in mind, I’d love to hear from you!
